There will be a dictation quiz this Friday. Just so you are aware, we will be doing both melodic AND harmonic dictation. The harmonic dictation will consist of cadential progressions. It will be very advantageous if you use a bit of logic and process-of-elimination when working cadences.

One of the best ways to practice dictation is to SIGHT SING! Seems a bit counter-intuative, but it works. Also here’s a link to a website with lots of practice dictations:
